Calathea Medallion

The Calathea Medallion is an indoor plant appreciated for its colorful leaves and distinctive patterns. Here are some tips for caring for your Calathea Medallion:

1. Light: Calatheas, including the Calathea Medallion, prefer bright indirect light to low light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can burn the leaves. Place the plant near a bright window, but away from direct sunlight.

2. Temperature: Keep the plant in a temperature range of 18°C to 24°C (65°F to 75°F). Avoid cold temperatures below 15°C (59°F).

3. Watering: Keep the soil of the Calathea Medallion slightly moist, but not soggy. Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry. Use non-calcareous water to avoid mineral deposits. Avoid leaving the pot in standing water.

4. Humidity: Calatheas love a humid atmosphere. You can increase the humidity around the plant by placing a pebble tray filled with water near the pot or by using a humidifier. Also, mist the leaves with water from time to time.

5. Fertilization: Fertilize your Calathea Medallion with a diluted balanced fertilizer approximately once a month during the growing season (spring to summer). Reduce fertilization in autumn and winter when the plant enters dormancy.

6. Pruning: Remove yellow or damaged leaves as they appear to encourage new leaf growth.
