Cataract Palm
This beautiful small palm is a very easy houseplant, suited to rather shady spots. It remains small in size and is very elegant with its pinnate leaves of a beautiful bright green. As it produces many suckers, a beautiful small group of palms is obtained quite quickly. It originates from Mexico, where it is found along fast-flowing rivers and in humid forests, sometimes with its roots in water. It therefore prefers constantly moist soil. Because it remains small, it is a sub-canopy plant and is accustomed to shade or partial shade. Do not place it on a south-facing windowsill, as the leaves would yellow and burn. In summer, it can be moved outdoors, provided it is in shade or partial shade.
Soil
Light potting soil for good drainage.
Fertilizer
Apply liquid fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season.
