Pruning paint - Block Out - Wilson
Pruning is an important task for ensuring the health of trees, plants, and shrubs that are part of a property's landscaping. This maintenance involves removing branches that hang precariously in certain areas, eliminating diseased branches, and shaping shrubs and bushes into pleasing forms. In the past, people applied pruning paint to almost every cut and wound, believing it would deter harmful insects and fungi. In fact, recent research suggests that pruning paint could disrupt the natural healing of plants and promote rot.
However, BLACK OUT pruning paint can be truly useful in certain specific situations. For example, to protect trees like oaks and elms, which are extremely susceptible to fungi carried by certain beetles. Or to preserve fruit trees that are vulnerable to bacterial infections. Not to mention trees that have suffered from Mother Nature's mood swings, equipment damage, or the antics of children or animals, leaving their trunks barked in several places. Some trees sometimes have such severe wounds that they are unable to form proper callus tissue, making them vulnerable to pest infestations and dry rot. Pruning paint can be extremely useful for these trees to prevent exposed wood from drying out and cracking.
