Originally from Romania, this conical pepper measures 10 to 15 cm long and 5 cm in diameter at the collar. Very popular with many generations of Romanians, this variety was introduced to the United States in 1991 by the acrobat Jan Antohi. Taking advantage of a visit to his home country for the first time since his defection to the West, he brought some back in his luggage. The fruits are delicious when fried and are distinguished by a thick, very sweet, and flavorful flesh. Very early, the peppers change from creamy yellow to orange before turning a beautiful red color. The plants can reach 50 cm tall.
